Hey, Kids – It's Time for Spring Break, Troy Style!
Local businesses and organizations are offering discounted and free activities to keep kids occupied the week of April 2.

Spring break for Troy students officially starts on April 2, and to help keep them entertained, several local businesses and organizations are offering discounted, cheap or free things for kids to do all week long.
"The started 'Spring Break Troy Style' as a prevention effort," said Nancy Morrison, executive director of the Troy Community Coalition. "We want to keep our youth busy with safe and fun activities. We also wanted to show our youth that there are many things they can do right here in Troy."
Highlights of "Spring Break Troy Style" include discounts at local restaurants, Day of Tournaments at , special discounts at and and the 7th Annual Laser Quest Overnighter.

The event at Laser Quest in Madison Heights is April 6 from 11:30 p.m.-6 a.m. and features six hours of heart-pounding laser quest action, snacks and a continental breakfast, all for $35.
Larry Hills, Laser Quest general manager, explains that laser tag, a futuristic game combining hide-and-seek and tag, is perfectly suited for this type of event.

“Laser Quest is perfect for groups of friends, and we know this will be a total blast for everyone who comes,” Hills said in a press release. “We do this type of lock-in all the time and have the experience to make it really fun and safe for everyone involved.” To register, visit Laser Quest (31401 John R Road) or call 248-616-9292
Other available activities during the week include:
- Golf at : Monday through Friday, pay just $10 to walk nine holes with a free pull cart. Call 248-619-7674 for tee times.
- Bowling at and : On Tuesday, April 3, two games and shoes are $6.95 from 5 p.m. – midnight.
- Activities: The Troy Community Center is offering a special $10 Spring Break Pass for the week or a daily pass for $4. Amenities include open gym, pool and fitness rooms. The teen Room will be open with 72-inch TV, pool table, foosball, air hockey, and music.
- Day of Tournaments at : On April 7, there will be 4-on-4 volleyball, dodgeball, 3-on-3 basketball, euchre and cash prizes. Call 248-524-2400 for more information.
- Skate Park: Located in the north parking lot of the Troy Community Center, the skate park is free and open daily from dawn to dusk. Call 248-524-3484 for more information.
- Timbuktu Edutainment Center: Located in , Timbuktu is open form 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They will be offering a special $20 Spring Break ALL Day Pass for all Troy students or a special $5 hourly pass.
