String of Car Break-ins Reported to Troy Police

The following information about police incidents is taken directly from the most recent Troy Police Department media releases.

  • 1000 block of Country Drive, Sept. 30, 7 a.m.: Complainant advised he parked his vehicle in the driveway. When he returned he found his passenger window smashed out and his laptop stolen. 
  • 6000 block of Crestview, Sept. 29-30, 8 p.m. to 9 a.m.: Resident advised her vehicle was broken into overnight and her purse was stolen. Inside the purse was jewelry, credit cards and cash.  
  • 6000 block of Forest Park, Sept. 29-30, 5 p.m. to 10 a.m.: Several complainants in the neighborhood for larcenies from autos. Missing items included wallets with cash and credit cards and GPS unit. 
  • 300 block of W. Big Beaver Rd., Sept. 30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Complainant advised she parked her car in the lot and went to work. When she returned she discovered the catalytic converter stolen off of her 2001 Chevy Van.
  • Elite Wholesale, 82 Park, Oct. 1-2, 9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m.: Complainant advised four wheels were stolen off of his Buick parked in the lot. The wheels were valued at $2,000. 
  • 1000 block of Boulan St., Oct. 2, 1:29 p.m.: Complainant advised two vehicles were parked in the driveway overnight.  Both vehicles were left unlocked and loose change was found missing. 
  • Zoup, 2873 W. Maple Rd., Aug. 30, 12:30 p.m.: Complainant advised he parked his pickup loaded with lawn equipment. When he returned he discovered two Redmax Blowers and two Shindawa trimmers were stolen. 
  • 3000 block of Weathervane Lane, Oct. 2, 12:05 to 8 a.m.: Complainant advised his vehicle was parked in the driveway overnight. When he returned he discovered his laptop was missing. Complainant advised he thought he may have left the vehicle unlocked. 
  • 4000 block of Marywood St., Oct. 1-2, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Complainant advised sometime overnight his amplifier and speaker were stolen from his vehicle. Complainant advised he may have left the tailgate unlocked. 
  • 900 block of Durham, Oct. 1-2, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Complainant advised his car was parked in the driveway overnight. When the complainant returned to his vehicle he discovered his wallet with cash and credit cards was missing. 
  • Sylvan Glen Golf Course, 5725 Rochester Rd., Oct. 2-3, 1:30 p.m. to 11 a.m.: Complainant advised he parked his vehicle in the lot and when he returned he discovered his golf clubs, satellite radio and range finder missing. Complainant advised he was not sure if the vehicle was locked. The missing items were valued at $2,500. 
  • 2000 block of Haverford, Oct. 3, 11:30 p.m.: Officers responded to an attempt larceny from auto. The resident informed officers he heard his car alarm go off and observed a subject running from his vehicle through his backyard. The resident advised his passenger door does not lock, however the alarm on the vehicle works. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.

  • 1000 block of Lexington, Oct. 1, 1:30 to 9 p.m.: Resident advised they left the home secured however failed to set the alarm. When they returned home they discovered the kitchen window was open and the screen was lying on the kitchen floor. Resident advised her jewelry bag and husband’s Rolex watch were missing. Value of the stolen items was $15,890.
  • 3000 block of Wakefield Dr., Oct. 2, 12:50 to 4:30 p.m.: Resident advised she left her home secured and when her husband returned home he discovered a rock had been thrown through a rear window. Complainant advised the bedroom had been ransacked and missing were jewelry ($10,500), two iPods ($700), iPod shuffle ($200), kindle fire ($350) and loose change ($100). 
  • 2000 block of Winter, Oct. 2, 7 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.: Resident advised he left his residence secured and when he returned, he discovered his attached garage pedestrian door had been forced open. A kitchen window was smashed, however no entry was made to the home.
