Traffic Crash Suspect Runs from Troy Police, Ends up in Handcuffs

The following information about police incidents is taken directly from the most recent Troy Police Department media releases.

Traffic altercations 

West Maple Road and Crooks Road, Nov. 25, 6:07 p.m.: Troy Officers observed two vehicles in a traffic altercation. The victim stated the suspect started to chase him as he attempted to drive home from work. Officers were able to capture the suspect after he stopped his vehicle and ran from the vehicle in an attempt to elude police. The suspect, a 43-year-old from Clawson, was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding.

Driving under influence of alcohol/drugs

Interstate-75 and Rochester Road, Nov. 22, 7:03 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a three car accident. The responsible driver had an odor of alcohol coming from his breath and slurred speech. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 55-year-old from Flat Rock, was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .11 percent.

John R Road and Elliot Street, Nov. 24, 12:57 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle after observing it weaving and strike a curb. The driver had a strong odor of intoxicants coming from her breath and admitted to drinking. The driver, a 57-year-old from St Clair Shores, had prior convictions for drunk driving. The driver failed field sobrieties and was arrested for operating while intoxicated (third offense). A blood draw was conducted with results pending.

West Wattles and Martin, Nov. 24, 2:44 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle after observing it almost strike a curb. The driver had an odor of intoxicants coming from his breath. The driver, a 36-year-old from Hazel Park, failed field sobrieties and was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .17 percent.

Larcenies

Walmart, 2001 W. Maple Rd., Nov. 23, 7:53 p.m.: Complaint reported she loaded her purchases in her vehicle and got into her car. Complainant stated she realized she left her purse in the cart.  She checked the cart, however her purse was gone. Complainant reported her purse contained $220 in cash, credit cards and identification

1000 block of Kirts, Nov. 22, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Resident reported her Schwinn Trailway bicycle which was chained to a post in the carport had been stolen. 

Larcenies from autos

Somerset Mall, 2800 W. Big Beaver Rd., Nov. 23, 1–1:30 p.m.: Complaint reported she parked her unlocked vehicle in the lot. When she returned, complainant discovered her Chanel coat and Chanel blazer were missing. Complainant stated the amount of the theft was $60,000.

4000 block of Marywood, Nov. 23-24, 11 a.m.: Resident reported he parked his 2004 Jeep in the driveway overnight. When he returned to the vehicle, the passenger door was ajar and his stereo valued at $149 was missing. Resident stated he may have left the vehicle unlocked.

Malicious destruction of property

Precision Global Systems, 1600 E. Big Beaver Rd., Nov. 13, 4:30 p.m.: Complaint reported his vehicle was parked in the lot. The complainant stated he heard his car alarm go off and observed his driver’s side windows and doors were damaged.

600 block of Coachman, Nov. 24-25, 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Complainant reported while her vehicle was parked in the lot someone broke her headlight.
