Troy Athens Charity Week 2025 Benefitting Next Steps 4 Seniors
Troy Athens High School students will hold one of Michigan's largest student-led charity campaigns from February 10-14!

Troy Athens High School students are preparing for one of Michigan’s largest student-led charity campaigns! From February 10–14, 2025, Athens HS students will be raising awareness and funds to support the Next Steps 4 Seniors Foundation. The Next Steps 4 Seniors Foundation was founded in 2017 to bridge the financial gap for low-income seniors in need of proper housing and care. The organization aims to ensure that vulnerable seniors live out their years with dignity and grace by connecting family members and caregivers to resources that help them with the important and challenging role of caring for their aging loved ones. The Athens Student Council chose the Next Steps 4 Seniors Foundation as they hope to raise awareness about this underserved demographic.
The students have planned a variety of Charity Week activities to raise funds and awareness. The week kicks off with a “comfy” spirit day and pancake breakfast prepared by parent volunteers. Later in the week, students will hold Jail ‘n Bail day, where students can pay to have friends “arrested” during class, and head to a “jail” where they will be able to take part in various games.
There will also be a carnival night, belly flop contest, volleyball tournament, hypnosis show, film festival, parent cook-off, and the Mr. Athens Pageant. While many of these events are not open to the general public, those interested can help Athens students reach their goal by making a donation. Checks made out to “Athens High School” can be mailed to Athens HS, c/o S. DuFresne, 4333 John R Rd., Troy, MI 48085. Donations can also be made online at https://tinyurl.com/4988y5ny.
