Troy City Council Selects Michael Culpepper as Interim City Manager
Culpepper will take over for current City Manager John Szerlag and will serve until a long-term replacement is found.

Troy City Council voted unanimously during a special meeting Monday to appoint Michael Culpepper as acting Troy city manager.
He will replace City Manager John Szerlag, who .
Culpepper, a Troy resident, has yet to formally accept the position, though he indicated he is excited to offer his services to the city.

“I hope to oversee a smooth transition between John Szerlag and whoever the city might hire in the future," Culpepper said, "and be as prudent, ethical and conservative, as far as the operations of the city go, for the time I’m here.”
Culpepper, retired city manager of Auburn Hills, will officially take over for Szerlag after Szerlag's last day on May 18.
