TROY, MI — At this point, nearly every person in the galaxy is aware that Donald Trump was elected President. But what about the rest of the election results in your town? Here are a couple Troy election highlights:
1. You have two new school board members: Elizabeth Hammond, who garnered 30% of the vote and Steve Gottlieb with 28% of the vote. Both members will serve a 6-year term.
2. Troy just barely voted against bringing mass transit to Metro Detroit. The Regional Transit Authority millage would have funded a history-making mass transit system connecting Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. Oakland County ultimately defeated the proposal with 293,510 "no" votes compared to 292,401 "yes" votes.
