Troy Fire Department Fights Construction Site Fire

Construction workers discovered the roof fire and the Troy Fire Department was dispatched to extinguish the blaze.

TROY, MI — The Troy Fire Department responded to a structure fire at an active construction site at ND Industries at 1893 Barrett Dr. at 8:08 a.m., according to a news release.

The construction site manager told arriving crews that workers discovered that roofing materials were burning and used fire extinguishers to contain the fire to the immediate area. However, firefighters were needed to pull the roofing material back and 100% put out the blaze.

The site was evacuated, and construction screeched to a dead stop. The fire was small enough that it did not set off the building fire suppression systems.
