Brian Miska honored as NHSACA Coach of the Year finalist and NFHS State & Section Coach of the Year for Boys Tennis.

Troy High School Boys Tennis Coach Brian Miska has been recognized with two distinguished honors in the world of high school athletics, highlighting his exceptional contributions to the sport, Troy High School, and the community.
Miska has been named one of ten finalists from Michigan for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association (NHSACA) Coach of the Year. This prestigious award, recognizing outstanding coaching excellence across the country, will be announced at the NHSACA National Convention in Rapid City, SD, from June 21–25, 2025. Miska’s nomination journey began with the Tennis Coach’s Association, progressed through the Michigan High School Coaches Association, and culminated in this national recognition.
In addition to this honor, Miska has also been selected as the National Federation of High School Association (NFHS) State and Section #4 Coach of the Year for Tennis. He is one of only three Michigan coaches to receive this recognition during the current school year. This award, which celebrates exemplary performance and contributions to high school sports, also originates from the Tennis Coach’s Association before being endorsed by the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA).
James Okler, Executive Director of the Michigan High School Coaches Association, praised Miska and the other honorees in a statement:
“The selection of these individuals from Michigan as State or Section Coaches of the Year reflects positively upon their school and your community. Nominee selections have been based on the performance of their programs over the years and their contributions to the sport, school, and community.”
Miska’s recognition highlights not only his success as a coach but also his dedication to building a program that reflects excellence, sportsmanship, and community impact. These accolades position him as a role model within the Troy High School community and beyond.
