Police first saw the woman speeding at Interstate-75 and Coolidge Highway and was seen swerving in its lanes, before pulling over for police. However, as officers approached, she drove away to the interstate, headed south. Police set their emergency lights and tried to get in front of the car in order to stop it, but they were avoided by the driver. Eventually, four police cars boxed her in without a collision. She had fled for six miles.
A male passenger in her passenger seat, who appears to be related to the children, was given a ride home. It is not clear if the driver was related to the children. She also has an outstanding warrant for her arrest stemming from a previous drunk driving arrest. She was arraigned on Friday and bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety bond.
