Troy Police To Sponsor Active Shooter Training
In the wake of recent school shootings, Troy Police are sponsoring a free seminar in active shooter situations.

The Troy Police Department will sponsor a free training for people who want to know what to do during an active shooter situation. According to a release published on the Department’s Facebook page, the seminar will take place at Kensington Church, 1825 East Square Lake Rd, Troy from 7-9pm on March 8.
The church says this training is especially useful for groups, including other faith organizations. “We encourage everyone in our community to consider this training, which is recommended for all organizations, including houses of worship,” Kensington says on the event webpage.
This training will be conducted by the A.L.I.C.E. Training Institute, which has “educated and equipped hundreds of churches, thousands of schools, and more than one million individuals to handle crises of this nature,” according to Kensington Church. The church says the training will help people learn how to handle active shooter situations. Registration is free via Eventbrite.
