Troy Public Schools Will Be Open On Monday, Nov. 14 Despite Boil Water Advisory
Troy public schools will be in session on Monday, Nov. 14.

TROY, MI — Troy Public Schools will be open on Monday, Nov. 14 despite the boil water advisory in effect, according to the Troy School District's official Twitter account.
The boil water alert was issued on Sunday, Nov. 13 after an 84-inch water main break closed major roads across Troy and has left many residents with an extreme loss of water pressure. The boil water advisory is in effect until at least Tuesday, Nov. 15.
In the meantime, the Troy School District sent a Tweet "ALL TSD schools are open and in session tomorrow! Please check your email or FB for details. See you in the morning."

In an email to parents and students, Pembrook Elementary School principal Susan Crocker said, "The City of Troy has been communicating with our Central Administration Team, and we have developed a plan that will allow school to remain open tomorrow. While flushing the city’s water lines will need to be done in order to ensure safe drinking water, we have been notified that our water pressure will return before tomorrow morning. This will not only enable our emergency sprinkler system to be fully functional, but will also make it possible to wash our hands and flush our toilets. The only services affected will be our drinking fountains and our lunch offering. The District Facility & Maintenance Department has arranged for Bottled Water to be delivered and available throughout the building, all of the water fountains to be clearly marked and for Chartwells to deliver a “bagged lunch” alternative for those purchasing a hot lunch tomorrow."
