Troy Public Works Prioritizes Storm Damage Removal

The following information was submitted in a press release.

The City of Troy experienced destructive high winds Friday evening. The damaged was wide spread but the severe damage was isolated to the northeast and southeast sections of the City. The City of Troy is committed to restore these areas. These efforts include city staff and contractors prioritizing the damage and addressing accordingly. The following priorities will be followed for the removal of tree debris.
  1. Fully Blocked Roads
  2. Blocked Driveways
  3. Partially Blocked Roads
  4. Dangerous Hanging Limbs
  5. Blocked Sidewalks
  6. Brush in Right-of-Way

The Department of Public Works is responsible for managing this operation. Currently the DPW is working to achieve priorities 1-4 and we are estimating priorities 5-6 will begin the middle of next week.

Please contact the Troy Police Department non-emergency number at 248-524-3477 to report a tree that is completely blocking the road or tree resting on a power line. For all other reports, please contact the DPW at 248-524-3392.

Property owners will be responsible for removing brush originating from private trees. The City of Troy will only remove private tree debris if it is blocking the roadway or sidewalk.
