Woman Tells Troy Police, 'I Should Not be Driving'

A Royal Oak woman didn't get far when Troy Police arrested her for operating while intoxicated after nearly hitting a patrol car as she backed out of a driveway.
The driver was seen by police at about 11:32 on Tuesday night, stopped in the middle of a side street near Niagara Drive and John R Road. Upon investigating, she quickly backed out of a driveway and nearly hit the officer's car head on before swerving out of the way.
She told police that she had been drinking "a lot," adding, "no, I should not be driving."

She failed sobriety tests and was arrested, later breath testing at .22 percent, more than double the legal limit of .08. In the Troy lock facility, police found two baggies of marijuana in a pant leg. In addition to operating while intoxicated, she was charged with possession of marijuana.
