Wrong-Way Crash Kills 2 On I-75 In Troy

The deadly crash shut down I-75 for nearly six hours.

TROY, MI — Two people were killed after a wrong-way crash shut down I-75 for nearly six hours early Sunday morning, according to reports.

Troy police were alerted by Madison Heights police around 4:17 a.m. that a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-75 north near 12 Mile, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The Malibu collided with a 2019 Dodge Challenger between 14 Mile and Maple, killing both drivers.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash, but police are investigating.
