• Macomb County driver arrested for OWI after crashing into a police car (macombdaily.com) — A 56-year-old Warren resident was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after his Cadillac struck a stopped Michigan State Police SUV at Kelly Road and Groesbeck Highway Tuesday morning. No one was injured, but troopers say he showed signs of impairment, failed field sobriety tests, and was taken for a blood draw before being lodged in the Macomb County Jail.

• Liquor sales at Schoolcraft, Macomb and Wayne community colleges OK'd under new law (macombdaily.com) — Macomb Community College’s South Campus in Warren will now be able to sell liquor more easily at its busy Expo Center under a new state law, potentially changing how many local events are hosted there. The legislation also affects Schoolcraft and Wayne County community colleges and is part of a broader update to Michigan liquor and safety laws.
   

• Hartland uses size, defense to shut down Warren De La Salle (macombdaily.com) — Warren’s De La Salle boys basketball team fell 57-51 to Hartland at the D Zone Showcase in Hazel Park, struggling with Hartland’s size and hot free-throw shooting. Despite leading early, the undersized Pilots couldn’t keep pace on the boards or from the field, dropping their fifth straight game as Hartland closed strong from the foul line.
