Avoiding Fraud and Scams in the Digital Age

The Pine Hill Congregational Church is offering an evening to hear about prevalent trends in fraudulent activities occurring right now.

The Pine Hill Congregational Church is hosting a presentation by West Bloomfield Police Department Officer James Pettinato regarding fraud and scams that are common traps for unsuspecting individuals, particularly in the digital age on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, in the Temple Shir Shalom Library at 3999 Walnut Lake Road, West Bloomfield, Michigan 48323.

In this scams and fraud presentation, attendees will learn about the most common types of scams and frauds that people fall victim to, including online phishing scams, identity theft, and new emerging scams. Officer Pettinato will provide practical tips and strategies for recognizing and avoiding these scams, as well as information on what to do if you have already fallen victim to one.

Officer James Pettinato is a 16-year law enforcement and Crime Prevention Specialist with a background in crime prevention, computer crimes, and evidence technician. The program will take place at 7:00 pm, and pre-registration is required by Monday, May 8, 2023, by emailing drcapacker@gmail.com or calling Pine Hill at (248) 626-2737. There is no charge.
