Cash, Baseball Bats, Kayak Taken in West Bloomfield
Police say items were taken from unlocked vehicles
A resident in the 2000 block of Treyburn in West Bloomfield contacted police June 27 to report items taken from a vehicle parked at the home.Â
According to the West Bloomfield Township Police Lieutenant Tim Diamond, the vehicle was left unlocked in the driveway overnight, and home surveillance camera footage showed a man walking up the driveway from the street. The man got into the car and walked away a short time later. Items missing included loose change and two composite baseball bats, with a combined value of $490.Â
A resident in the 7000 block of Essex also reported items taken from a parked, unlocked vehicle between June 26 and 27. A purse containing $600 in cash, credit cards and identification was taken, Diamond said.
Business break-in
Police responded June 27 at 6:30 p.m. to an alarm at Midas Muffler, 5725 W. Maple, and found someone got in to the building by damaging a panel on a bay door, Diamond said. A bag kept in the manager's office, containing $200 in cash, was taken. The case remains under investigation.ÂKayak taken
A West Bloomfield resident who kept his kayak parked an unsecured at the community beach on Pine Lake called police June 28 to report it missing.
