Engineering Society of Detroit Honors Henry Ford Health VP

The Walled Lake resident receives one of the organization's highest honors.

Susan Hawkins, senior vice president of Performance Excellence at Henry Ford Health System, was inducted into the Engineering Society of Detroit’s College of Fellows (ESD) June 27.

ESD Fellows are recognized for outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience in their professions, professional society service and leadership. Fellow is one of the highest recognitions for ESD members.

Hawkins, a Walled Lake resident, is responsible for leading strategic planning, process engineering, operational analytics, and clinical quality and safety initiatives at Henry Ford. She has been with the health system since 1986.

She serves as director on the Board of Directors for both the Engineering Society of Detroit and Inforum and is a member of the Michigan Health and Hospital association’s Quality and Accountability Committee.

Hawkins earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University.
