Girl, 12, Raped In Oakland County Park In The Middle Of The Night: Police
A 25-year-old Detroit man is facing life in prison after police said he raped a 12-year-old girl in an Oakland County park last Thursday.
WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI — A 25-year-old Detroit man is facing life in prison after police said he raped a 12-year-old girl in an Oakland County park last Thursday.
The attack happened last Thursday at 1 a.m. at Pine Lake Park on West Long Lake Road in West Bloomfield Township, according to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.
An off-duty officer was walking around the park, which closes after sunset, in the early morning hours when he saw a car parked and a man and a minor girl standing next to it, according to the prosecutor's office.

Police identified the man as 25-year-old Joshua Charston Brown-Hill. They determined that he "had just engaged in alleged criminal sexual conduct with the minor child," according to the prosecutor's office.
Brown-Hill was arrested on suspicion of raping the girl. He was charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. If convicted, he faces life in prison with a minimum sentence of 25 years.

He was placed in the Oakland County Jail and given a $3 million bond. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 29.
Police did not identify the girl, but said she was reunited with her parents and has since received medical and supportive care.
Investigators said there is no danger to the public.
"I commend the diligence of the West Bloomfield officer who saw and intervened in this crime," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said. "Those who target children will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
