New Year's Hours for Busch's, Meijer, Kroger, Other Michigan Stores

Target, Walmart and other stores will be open, some on a limited schedule, but Costco will be closed New Year's Day.

If you find yourself hosting a brunch you didn’t plan on, many area grocery stores are open over the New Year’s holiday.

Here’s a list of New Year’s weekend hours for several stores, taken from their websites and the Holiday Shopping Hours website:

Busch’s Fresh Food Market: Stores open regular hours, 7 a.m.-11 p.m., on both Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Hollywood Markets: Stores are open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Jan. 1.

Meijer stores and gas stations: Meijer stores are open 24 hours on both Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Kroger stores: Most stores are open on both Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Target: Most stores have extended hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Dec. 31; 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Jan. 1. See store for specific hours.

Walmart: Many locations close at 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, then open for normal business hours on New Year’s Day.

Whole Foods Market: Many stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 31; and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Jan. 1.

Costco: Stores open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve; closed on New Year’s Day.

Trader Joe’s: All stores will close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 and are closed on Jan. 1.
