Pine Lake Cemetery Memorial Day Service Turns 40 on May 29, 2023
The origins of the Pine Lake Cemetery Memorial Day Service, with particular tribute given to the Rev. Jack Freed, will be recalled on May 29
The Pine Lake Cemetery Memorial Service turns 40 this year! Begun in 1983 by Rev. Jack Freed, Ledge Tomlinson, and others, this annual event has brought people together to remember, mourn, and honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for the nation's highest ideals. On Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2023, at 10:00 am, 4351 Middlebelt Road, in West Bloomfield, Michigan, there will be music, ceremony, presentations by Township officials, special readings, and a tribute to Rev. Jack Freed, who recently passed away. With Rev. Freed as an example, we will affirm the great effectiveness of "Individuals Uniting Community" through service and the giving of self. The Revs. William Matlack (Holy Spirit Lutheran Church) and Chris Richards (previously of the Pine Hill Congregational Church) will share reflections of Rev.
