Thieves Drive Into West Bloomfield Fur Shop's Front Window

Thieves who attempted to break in to Bricker-Tunis Furs at the Orchard Mall shopping center in West Bloomfield early Wednesday morning did not succeed, even though they used a Chevy Tahoe to drive through a front window. 

According to West Bloomfield Township Police Lieutenant Tim Diamond, two women out for a walk spotted the vehicle, which had been stolen from an owner in Van Buren Township, and called police. The store's alarm system was not triggered, he said. 

"They ran into a security steel fence," Diamond said. "They caused quite a bit of damage to the Tahoe, but didn't get anything." 

Police brought in a K-9 team, with no result, he added. There are no suspects.
