John Volante, owner of Stroh's Ice Cream Parlour, 3162 Biddle, loves Wyandotte for its small town flavor--pun intended.
"People like to get ice cream and walk down by the river."
Volante and his wife Julie, of Allen Park, recently celebrated their 22nd year serving the frozen sweet treat in Downtown Wyandotte.
Despite being open year round, Volante said the ice cream business is often closely related to warmer weather. The last day of summer is Sept. 21.
With about one month remaining of summer, ice cream lovers still have time to cool off with a handful of sweet ice creamy goodness.
The Volantes make most of their ice cream in-house including delectable flavors like moose tracks, cookie dough and, of course, vanilla.
Stroh's Ice Cream Parlour is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
