"No reason was given," said the president of Minnesota State University, Mankato.

MANKATO, MN — A Minnesota State University, Mankato student was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Friday under unclear circumstances — just one day after a similar incident involving a University of Minnesota-Twin Cities student.

"No reason was given," Mankato's president, Edward Inch, wrote in a letter to the university community. "The university has received no information from ICE, and they have not requested any information from us."

Inch said he has contacted elected officials "to share my concerns and ask for their help in stopping this activity within our community of learners."
