Cliff serves as vice president of the Minnesota nonprofit Veterans Empowered Inc., which provides free PTSD books, publications and therapy for disabled veterans suffering from PTSD.

What makes the veteran someone your community should know about?

Cliff has severe PTSD from his Vietnam service, but every day he makes people laugh with his wonderful humor despite open-heart surgery, severe neuropathy from Agent Orange, serious back surgeries and other serious combat-related medical issues. In the past 18 months, and as an unpaid volunteer, Cliff has driven over 50,000 miles throughout southern Minnesota delivering free PTSD books to disabled veterans and first responders. Whenever he meets a veteran he gives them a free book, makes them laugh with his humor and tells them where they can get help if needed. Cliff’s motto is ‘Serving Veterans, Saving Lives.’
