Health Risks
Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a rare but serious infection. Symptoms include fever, severe headache, neck stiffness, and nausea.
While healthy individuals typically recover without treatment, listeriosis can be fatal for infants, the elderly, or those with weakened immune systems. It can also cause miscarriages or stillbirths in pregnant women.
Anyone who purchased the recalled sausage should throw it away or return it to the store.
