ST. CLOUD, MN — Former President Donald Trump and his new running mate in U.S. Sen. JD Vance of Ohio are set to hold a campaign rally in St. Cloud on Saturday, July 27.

The event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

Trump's visit comes as the national spotlight shines on Gov. Tim Walz, who is being seriously considered as Kamala Harris's running mate. Trump and Vance will make the case that Democrats' control over the state has been damaging for Minnesota families.

No Republican presidential candidate has won Minnesota's ten electoral votes since Richard Nixon won the state in 1972

However, Trump came close in 2016, falling by just 1.5 percent to Hillary Clinton.

But Democrat Joe Biden beat Trump by more than 7 percentage points when he sought a second term. Harris — who Biden endorsed after stepping out of the presidential race on Sunday — will attempt to repeat that success.
