Major Weekend Closure: Minnesota's I-494 Shutting Down In Both Directions
Heads up, east Twin Cities metro drivers: Major weekend traffic disruption ahead.

TWIN CITIES, MN — Get ready, east metro drivers. Interstate 494 will shut down in both directions this weekend between Blaine Avenue and Babcock Trail in Inver Grove Heights, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The closure will allow crews to demolish the southbound Highway 52 bridge and begin paving work on two connecting ramps.
Following the weekend work, traffic on Highway 52 will be shifted head-to-head on the northbound bridge between Upper 55th Street and Mendota Road/Southview Boulevard.
