ISD 196 Administrator Finalist For Stillwater Superintendent Job

STILLWATER, MN — A prominent administrator in Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan ISD 196 is one of seven finalists for the superintendent position of Stillwater Area Public Schools ISD 134, the Stillwater district's school board announced Friday.
Steve Troen, who currently serves as ISD 196's director of teaching and learning, was part of the finalist group selected from a pool of 18 applicants, ISD 134 said.
The Stillwater district said it is conducting public interviews with the finalists on Monday and Tuesday of this week, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on both days. A second round of interviews of the finalists is scheduled for April 7.

According to the district, the finalists were selected based on criteria established by the school board with feedback from the community.
The finalist interviews are being held in the Stillwater District's Oak Park Building, 6355 Osman Ave N., and will be recorded and posted on the ISD 134 website on Wednesday, the district said.

The Stillwater school board said it expects to approve a contract for a permanent superintendent on April 14.
The other six applicants are:
- Edward Bennett, former principal at Omaha Central High School in Nebraska
- John Bezek, principal at Prior Lake High School
- Mike Funk, superintendent at Albert Lea Area Schools
- Malinda Lansfeldt, interim superintendent at Stillwater Area Schools
- Noel Schmidt, superintendent at Rock Ridge Public Schools in Virginia, Minnesota
- Eric Schneider, chief academic officer at EdIncites in Chanhassen
