ISD 196 Names Coordinator For 196Online
She previously principal at Diamond Path Elementary School and retired in 2018. She currently works at Greenleaf Elementary.
DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — ISD 196 announced that it chose Lynn Hernandez to be the coordinator of online school 196Online.
Hernandez was previously principal at Diamond Path Elementary School of International Studies and retired in 2018, the district said. She returned to ISD 196 in 2020 to fill an assistant administrator position and is currently completing a one-year position as an assistant administrator at Greenleaf Elementary School, the district said.
She will begin her new position as Teaching and Learning Coordinator on July 1, according to the district. Hernandez will replace Jenny Huling, who helped develop the online school during the pandemic, the district said.

“I’m excited to join the staff of 196Online and the opportunity to work with them to continue shaping District 196’s online school presence,” Hernandez said. “The staff has worked hard to meet students’ needs in a meaningful way. It’s an honor to be able to collaborate with them and our families to provide opportunities for student success.”
Hernandez has a Bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Texas, Arlington and earned her teaching certification from Concordia University in Portland, the district said. She also has a Master's degree in curriculum development and has an administrative degree from Hamline University, according to the district.

Hernandez came to ISD 196 in 1996 as a 4th grade teacher and then was an assistant administrator before becoming principal of Diamond Path Elementary in 2004, the district said.
