BURNSVILLE, MN — A 56-year-old Lakeville man died Sunday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 35W.

The single-car crash happened in Burnsville near McAndrews Road at about 4:30 p.m. No one else besides the driver was involved.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the man was driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla southbound on I-35W when he veered to the right shoulder and entered the ditch, and hit the sound barrier.

The car then started on fire, authorities said.
