Apple Valley-Rosemount is a place like no other. And whether you grew up here, recently moved to the area or you’re just an occasional visitor, you know that Apple Valley-Rosemount has its own special traditions and history that make it so unique.
A few things to know:
- Once known as Lebanon Township, Apple Valley earned its current moniker in the mid-20th century. This change, inspired by the picturesque apple trees planted by developer Orrin Thompson, marked the beginning of its transformation into the bustling community it is today.
- The Steeple Center is a piece of Rosemount's history transformed into a vibrant arts and community center. Originally a church, the downtown building now hosts a variety of activities, including 55+ programming as well as events from the Rosemount Area Arts Council.
- Rosemount's Leprechaun Days is a multi-day summer festival that transforms the city into a lively hub of parades, carnivals and cultural celebrations. It highlights the spirit of Rosemount, spotlights local businesses and fosters bonds within the community.
