Missing Apple Valley Man Died By Suicide: Police

Officers confirmed that Shuefaub Xiong reported to Domino's for work on Jan. 14 but did not make four scheduled deliveries around 6 p.m.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — The Apple Valley Police Department announced the death of Shuefaub Xiong, a 42-year-old man who had been missing since Jan. 14. Xiong died by suicide in St. Paul, authorities confirmed.

"The members of the Apple Valley Police Department were saddened to learn of Mr. Xiong’s suicide in Saint Paul," the department said in a statement. "We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and the Hmong community. We are grateful to all those who searched for Mr. Xiong and provided information to our department during a very difficult week."

Xiong’s disappearance had drawn increasing concern after his red Toyota Camry was found abandoned in Superior, Wisconsin, on Jan. 19, five days after he was reported missing.

Xiong was last seen after failing to return home following his Domino’s delivery shift on Jan. 14.

Officers confirmed that Xiong reported to work on Jan. 14 but did not make four scheduled deliveries around 6 p.m. His last confirmed sighting was at the Richfield Target that same day, after abandoning his delivery route in Apple Valley.

Authorities had noted during the investigation that Xiong might have been experiencing a mental health crisis.
