NWS Weather Alert Issued For Burnsville, Lakeville, Apple Valley Area

APPLE VALLEY, MN — The National Weather Service has issued a special weather alert for the Burnsville, Lakeville, Apple Valley area and parts south.
Residents should expect winds up to 40 mph. Penny-sized hail is possible.

A few storms could produce large hail and strong wind gusts, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out across the region Friday. The rest of Memorial Day weekend looking drier.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms before 4pm, then a slight chance of showers. High near 72. Southeast wind around 15 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. South southwest wind around 10 mph.
Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. South southwest wind around 10 mph becoming east southeast after midnight.
