Traffic Back To Normal In Rosemount Following Biden's MN Visit

Biden's trip to Minnesota resulted in two, temporary road closures Tuesday and heavier than usual police presence.

ROSEMOUNT, NJ — Drivers in Rosemount saw a heavier police presence than normal as President Joe Biden paid a private visit to Dakota County Technical College on Tuesday afternoon. The event was not open to the public.

Drivers experienced two, temporary road closures Tuesday that took place when the president’s motorcade arrived and when it left, resulting in a 15-minute delay on each end.

To ensure the community's safety, several surrounding law enforcement agencies also assisted the Rosemount Police Department. Prior to Biden's arrival, officers were made aware of potential protests planned in the area.

"Our goal is to maintain the standards of public safety that are in place even with the president’s visit," the department said via social media before Biden arrived. "It is our belief that the vast array of mutual aid assistance we are receiving will help us achieve this goal."

During Biden's visit to Rosemount, he discussed how the recently approved $1.2 trillion federal infrastructure package will benefit Minnesotans and create good-paying union jobs, White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre previously said.
