Burnsville Man Pleads Guilty To Selling Methamphetamine, Gets 20 Years
After his time in prison, he will be on supervised release for five years, prosecutors said.
BURNSVILLE, MN — A Burnsville man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to selling methamphetamine from hotel rooms throughout the Twin Cities, according to a news release from the District of Minnesota's U.S. Attorney, Andrew Luger.
After being released from prison, Eric Michael Dungy, 50, will be on supervised release for five years, prosecutors said.
Law enforcement first learned that Dungy was selling methamphetamine from Twin Cities hotel rooms in 2020, prosecutors said. Dungy was arrested on Sept. 30, 2020, in the Element Hotel parking lot in Bloomington. Officers found more than $16,600 in cash and heroin on him, prosecutors said.

Police searched Dungy's vehicle and found 364 grams of methamphetamine, three methamphetamine pipes, needles, Ziploc bags with traces of methamphetamine on them, an electronic money counter, and a 9 mm handgun, prosecutors said.
A few days later, officers searched Dungy's hotel room and found 5.5 pounds of methamphetamine and some of his belongings, prosecutors said.

After being released from jail on bail in November 2020, police again investigated Dungy for selling methamphetamine, according to prosecutors. In December 2020, he agreed to sell an undercover officer three pounds of methamphetamine, prosecutors said.
That same day, law enforcement searched his adjacent hotel rooms in Bloomington and found 6.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 13.5 grams of heroin, three digital scales, multiple small Ziplock bags, eleven phones, and $12,286 in cash, prosecutors said.
According to prosecutors, Dungy pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in October 2021.
