• Approved Summary of Proceedings Dakota County Board of Commissioners November 18, 2025 (hastingsjournal.news) — Dakota County commissioners approved a lease with Pacifica Mall Burnsville LLC to support the Burnhaven Library renovation and also advanced a grant application for new outdoor space at the library—both decisions with direct impact on Burnsville residents. The board also handled a long list of countywide items, from road projects and greenway work to telework policies and housing and child protection funding. 
• District 196 schools increase security after online gun threats (kstp.com) — Burnsville schools recently faced multiple online threats that led to canceled classes, early dismissals, and a visible increase in police presence on campuses. Investigators say several students in District 191 and nearby districts were traced to the posts, and officials are stressing serious disciplinary and legal consequences while urging parents to discuss responsible social media use with their children.
• The First Open Halfpipe In North America Is At A Surprising Place (unofficialnetworks.com) — Buck Hill in Burnsville is unexpectedly the first ski resort in North America to open its halfpipe this season, beating out bigger mountain destinations. The small but historic hill near Minneapolis, known for producing Olympic skiers, now offers early‑season halfpipe laps via a rope tow and remains part of the Ikon Pass as a bonus mountain.
