Burnsville Wins 2021 Outstanding Conservationist Award

The city received the award from The Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District.

BURNSVILLE, MN — The city of Burnsville received the 2021 Outstanding Conservationist award from The Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District.

The Dakota SWCD said it chose Burnsville for its commitment to conservation.

The city has also installed raingardens in several locations on its properties, stabilized the shoreline of Crystal Lake and restored native prairie for pollinators at Lake Park and North River Hills Park, SWCD said.

Every year, the SWCD said it honors a landowner, business, or organization for their contributions to conserve or restore natural resources in Dakota County.

"The SWCD commends the city of Burnsville for being leaders in conservation and supporting clean water practices," the district said.
