Today, the Minnesota Senate will debate a controverisal proposal to institute a voter ID requirement. Senators will vote on the bill later this afternoon. The House the measure on Wednesday. If the measure passes, the voter ID proposal will go before Gov. Mark Dayton and then the voters themselves, who will put the issue to a referendum during the upcoming general election in November.
