New School Board Member to Be Chosen Thursday
The Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Board of Education will have nine candidates to choose from.

By Friday, the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Board of Education will once again have a full roster.
Thursday the Board will choose a successor to Paula Teiken, who left the district in mid-March. Interest in the vacant seat has been high, not unlike 2011, when 10 people went out for a seat on the board after longtime Member Gail Morrison left.

- Abigail Alt, 16 Marcin Road, Burnsville;
- Linda Deason, 13305 Acorn Circle, Burnsville;
- John Doll, 10918 Southview Drive, Burnsville;
- Cynthia Espander, 13419 Washburn Lane, Burnsville;
- Scott Hume, 804 E. 134th St., Burnsville;
- William John, 14609 Brunswick Ave. So, Savage;
- Abdulrazzaq Mursal, 51 McAndrews Road West, Burnsville;
- Colleen Smith, 13993 Yosemite Ave. So., Savage, and
- William Streff, 4365 Medary Ave. So., Eagan
The Board held a roundtable with the candidates on May 2. They will choose the new school board member by a simple majority vote. The meeting will take place at the Diamondhead Education Center at 6:30 p.m.
