• Man charged after allegedly assaulting woman on Burnsville walking trail (kstp.com) — Police have charged a 23-year-old man after a woman reported being attacked on a walking trail in Burnsville’s Crystal Lake Park on New Year’s Day, prompting increased patrols in the area. Court documents describe a struggle on the trail, conflicting accounts from the suspect, and an arrest tied to surveillance footage, with the case now moving through Dakota County court.
   

• 'Rodent Contamination' and 'Filth' Triggers Multi-State Recall of Popular Food, Drugs, and Cosmetics (thehealthy.com) — Burnsville shoppers are being urged to destroy certain food, drug, pet food, and cosmetic products that passed through a contaminated Minneapolis warehouse and were distributed to Burnsville and other Minnesota cities. The FDA says rodent and bird waste at Gold Star Distribution’s facility may have exposed many well-known brands to harmful bacteria, including possible Salmonella. Refunds are available through the company, and anyone with symptoms should contact a medical professional.
