5-Year-Old Dies After Being Found Unresponsive In Eagan Pool

Police were called to the scene in a residential Eagan neighborhood around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

EAGAN, MN — A 5-year-old is dead after they were found unresponsive in an Eagan residential swimming pool on Thursday, according to police.

Around 12:30 p.m., police responded to the 1600 block of Donegal Court on a report of a child running between neighborhood homes, KARE 11 reported.

A woman told investigating officers that her 5-year-old was missing from their home in the 1700 block of Deerwood Drive. Police found the child unresponsive in a pool located less than a mile from the family's home.

The child was transported to Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, where they were pronounced dead, according to KSTP.
