Sexual Assaults In Eagan's Lebanon Hills Spurs Increased Patrols

Police are encouraging people to walk in pairs or groups at Lebanon Hills Regional Park following two recent attacks there.

EAGAN, MN — Eagan police and the Dakota County Sheriff's Office are deploying extra patrols in Lebanon Hills Regional Park after a pair of recent sexual assaults there. No arrests have been made.

A woman was attacked on Nov. 7 while walking alone along the trail system in the park at about 11 a.m., police said.

A similar incident was reported to law enforcement near the same location on Sept. 7 at about 4:30 p.m., "however the victim in this case was able to get away," police said.

Police said they have "limited suspect information" and are encouraging community members to travel with someone else and be vigilant while using the Lebanon trail systems.

The Eagan Police Department and the Dakota County Sheriff's Office encourage everyone to take these safety precautions:

  • Walk in pairs or groups
  • Stay aware of your surroundings
  • Avoid poorly lit areas
  • Stay in more populated areas
  • Report any suspicious activity immediately to 911

"Stay alert, stay safe, and look out for each other," police said. "Please call 911 immediately for something actively going on."
