11-Year-Old Boy's Body Found In Eden Prairie Pond

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — The body of an 11-year-old boy who went missing Sunday was found in a pond near the child's house in Eden Prairie.

Mohamed Mohamed, who was non-verbal autistic, was last seen at approximately 5:45 p.m. near his residence on Cardiff Lane. He was wearing only a diaper, police said.

His body was recovered from a pond at about 9:30 p.m.

The Eden Prairie Police Department is conducting a joint investigation surrounding the circumstances of this incident with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Water Patrol and Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Mohamed during this incredibly difficult time," police said in a statement. "We would also like to thank everyone who participated in the search efforts. No further information is available at this time."
