11 Edina Schools On Weekly COVID-19 Outbreak List
Ten of the 11 Edina schools on the outbreak list are in the Edina Public Schools system, which lifted its universal mask mandate Wednesday.
EDINA, MN — Eleven schools in Edina were named on the Minnesota Department of Health’s latest list of facilities with COVID-19 outbreaks.
Thursday’s list included six elementary schools — Concord, Cornelia, Countryside, Creek Valley, Highlands and Normandale — as well as South View Middle School, Valley View Middle School, Edina High School and Our Lady of Grace Catholic School.
The outbreak list also named Edina Public Schools’ Early Childhood Special Education program.

All eleven schools were also included on last week’s list. Just three Edina schools were named on the Feb. 3 list.

Ten of the 11 Edina schools named on Thursday's COVID-19 outbreak list are in the Edina Public Schools system, which lifted its universal mask mandate Wednesday.
The COVID-19 data dashboard for Edina Public Schools shows there have been 1,733 total coronavirus cases among students since Aug. 30, including 24 cases in the past week.

The district has also reported 296 total cases among staff since Aug. 30. About 88 percent of Edina Public Schools staff are vaccinated against the coronavirus, officials said in mid-February.
The district is one of just two in Minnesota that have a vaccine-or-test requirement for staff members, school board chair Erica Allenburg said.
There were 109 Hennepin County schools on Thursday's list, six more than last week. The total number of Minnesota schools on the list grew from 598 last week to 609 on Thursday.
