Four Edina Burglaries Follow Pattern of Earlier Crimes
The latest incidents involve forced entry, cut phone lines and targeted jewelry.

Another four western Edina homes have been burglarized since May 14, and police suspect the same person responsible for a .
The four burglaries followed a pattern similar to the earlier crimes. All involved forced entry, with outside wires cut in two incidents and jewelry the target in three—the most recent taking place over Memorial Day weekend. All the homes were unoccupied when they were burglarized. There were no witnesses, no new suspect or vehicle information from the most recent incidents—all occuring during the day or early evening.
"It's more common with older burglaries to see cut phone lines, as not a lot of them used to have cellular backups," Detective Dave Carlson said. "Before we had cell phones, they'd cut phone lines and that'd disable an alarm system, but with cellular backups it doesn't accomplish much."

The string of burglaries has happened despite Edina Police increasing marked and unmarked patrols. The suspect in the earlier burglaries is described as a white male in his 40s, with dark hair and a receding hairline. He has been observed driving two separate vehicles during the burglaries—a red pickup truck with a black topper and a brown sedan.
No arrest has been made, though Minneapolis Police just last week they believe is responsible for similar burglaries in Minneapolis, Edina, Minnetonka, Wayzata and Plymouth.
