$4 Million Data Center Upgrade Will Add 5 Edina Jobs

The data center building, on 7700 France Avenue, is nearly doubling in size.

DataBank is less than a month away from finishing a $4 million upgrade to its Edina data center that will add about five jobs and nearly double the size of the 7700 France Avenue facility, according to Twin Cities Business.

The Dallas-based company took over the data center from VeriSpace in March.

The expansion will
increase the center from 10,000 square feet to more than 18,000 to provide room for new power and cooling infrastructure and for conference rooms, lounge areas and other customer spaces, the business magazine is reporting.

“DataBank’s entrance into [the Twin Cities] through acquisition has put us in a great position to facilitate growth in the market,” the company's CEO, Tim Moore, said in a statement. “Upgrades to the data center allow us to address existing client demand and attract new customers.”

The facility currently has three full-time employees, but plans to hire five more sales and account management staff members.
