81-Year-Old Edina Woman Arrested for $28 Cub Foods Theft

Monday, August 5

-A 43-year-old Edina man was arrested for driving drunk near the intersection of Hwy 100 and Benton Ave.

Tuesday, August 6

- A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested for driving drunk on the intersection of Hwy 100 and 70th Street.
- A $560 phone was stolen from the 7100 block of France Ave.
- Tools worth $600 were stolen from a yard on the 5800 block of Ashcroft Ave.
- A 24-year-old man was arrested for forgery at the York Ave CVS.
A phone and wallet worth almost $500 were stolen from the 6700 block of York Ave.

Wednesday, August 7

- A 57-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for obstructing the legal process after a traffic stop on the 5100 block of Eden Ave.

Thursday, August 8

- A $661 purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the Jerry's Food parking lot.

Friday, August 9

- Two 19-year-old Edina men were cited for theft near the intersection of Tingdale Ave and 60th St. One was also cited for fleeing police while the other was cited for consuming alcohol underage. Police were responding to a call about a damaged street sign.

Saturday, August 10

- A 26-year-old Oakdale man was arrested for driving drunk near the intersection of Hwy 62 and Hwy 169.
-A $550 phone was stolen from the 7500 block of France Ave.

Sunday, August 11

- $2000 in car windows were broken on the 6000 and 5800 blocks of St. John's Ave.
- An 81-year-old Edina woman was arrested for stealing $28 worth of groceries from the York Ave. Cub Foods. She was placed under citizen's arrest by store security after she checked out without paying for shrimp and vitamins she had stashed in her purse.
- A 58-year-old Edina man was arrested for driving drunk on the 5200 block of Interlachen Blvd.
