Interlachen Country Club is the best golf course Minnesota has to offer, according to a new ranking developed by golfers themselves.

Golf Digest deploys 1,700 professionally trained low-handicap golfers to continually assess the golf courses. The rankings are based on more than 80,000 evaluations over 10 years looking at criteria such as short options, challenge, design variety, conditioning, aesthetics, and character.

  • Bobby Jones won the 1930 U.S. Open here, completing the second leg of his Grand Slam.
  • Originally remodeled by Donald Ross in 1922.
  • Restored in 2023 by Andrew Green to revive Ross’s vision, with larger greens and strategic bunkering.
  • Dramatic terrain and land movement are now revealed after clearing overgrowth.
  • Par-5 12th ends on an elevated green known as "the fortress."
  • Expanded greens and bunkering offer more creative shot options.
