City, School District Working to Help Apartment Fire Victims
Locals interested in helping residents of the building can make a donation at any U.S. Bank location.

In the wake of a that ripped through earlier this week, a number of Edina organizations are coming together to help support the victims.
A total of 15 units in the 118-apartment complex were impacted by the blaze, with three described as a total loss and three others experiencing significant smoke and water damage. Some of the residents were relocated to vacant units within the building, with others seeking alternative housing.
Members of met with Parklawn management Friday to discuss ways the district, and other local service organizations can provide help to the impacted residents. , Edina's new director of communications & community engagement, said specific needs are still being assessed at this point.

"We know that the needs will most certainly extend beyond the residents of the 15 units directly impacted, as many occupants are already at work cleaning clothes and furnishings in an effort to rid them of the strong smell of smoke," Brott wrote in a release.
Brott said the district plans to have specific information regarding ways area residents can provide support in the coming week, including a list of needed in-kind donations.

Until plans are finalized, interested parties can make monetary donations to the "Parklawn Resident Relief Fund" at any U.S. Bank location.
